SAN DIEGO, CA - September 10, 2001 - Ligand Pharmaceuticals Incorporated (Nasdaq: LGND) announced today that TAP Pharmaceutical Products has elected to proceed with development of LGD2226, a selective androgen receptor modulator (SARM) for the treatment of major androgen-related diseases and disorders, such as hypogonadism, osteoporosis, male hormone replacement, and male and female sexual dysfunction.
