TAP PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCTS INC. TO BUILD HABITAT HOUSE IN NORTH CHICAGO
Employees, local officials, partner family gather for groundbreaking
April 27, 2001 (Lake Forest, Ill.) - Habitat for Humanity Lake County's newest home will be sponsored by TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc. of Lake Forest, Ill. TAP employees will be building the house as part of the company's leadership and employee development program.
Groundbreaking for the home will take place Monday, April 30 at 3 p.m. at 23rd Street and Kemble Avenue in North Chicago, Ill. Employees from TAP will host the ceremony along with Habitat volunteers and officials.
TAP employees will help construct the home over the next few months. Construction of the home, which will be the first of 14 units built by Habitat for Humanity on the block, is expected to be completed in late summer.
"TAP's mission is to enhance the lives of people who use our products. By participating in this valuable project, TAP employees will be supporting our mission and the community by demonstrating TAP's commitment to helping others," said Thomas Watkins, TAP president.
Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical, Christian housing ministry working to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness worldwide. The Lake County affiliate was founded in 1989 and has housed 52 families in decent affordable homes. Three additional homes are currently under construction.
