TAP is a partnership filled with opportunity. It's how we began and it's how we operate.

TAP was founded in 1977 through a partnership between Japan's Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited and US-based Abbott, two of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies. It's because of our heritage that we know the value of a productive partnership—in fact, our business model is based on partnerships. Our expertise in development and commercialization of pharmaceutical products in the United States has enabled us to build the successful company we are today while retaining our entrepreneurial culture.

As a company focused on partnerships that yield opportunities, we are eager to learn of potential licensing and co-promotional collaborations. We offer potential partners the benefit of our strengths:

  • Talent. Our 3,300 employees are some of the industry's best and brightest.
  • Expertise. We are leaders in drug development, quality assurance, sales, and marketing.
  • Focus. Our development efforts are focused on three core areas: urology, gynecology, and gastroenterology. However, we also remain interested in other areas of scientific promise.
  • Commitment. Our pipeline is sourced through in-licensing and partnerships. We commit to partners and work together to succeed.

Areas of Interest
We are in search of licensing and co-promotional opportunities with Phase I, II, III or IND-ready data in the following therapeutic areas, as well as other opportunities in urology, gynecology, gastroenterology, and internal medicine. TAP is interested in US or global rights to compounds.
