Facts on TAP's Commitment to Acting on Our Values

TAP is committed to building and maintaining a culture of integrity and ethics throughout the company - a commitment we call Acting on Our Values. TAP's ethics and compliance program has won praise as state-of-the art among compliance programs. A wide array of resources are available to TAP employees from training to a hotline for questions to an online Ethics & Law Center, which is available to every employee, 24 hours a day. TAP has created a culture of compliance that is evident in commitments not only from senior management, but from every employee.

At TAP, ethics and compliance is good business.

Guidance

  • TAP's Code of Business Conduct contains the guidelines and principles by which the company operates.

  • TAP's Operational Policies provide employees with a more specific understanding of health care laws and regulations and contains clear and direct guidelines on issues such as educational grants for physicians, contract pricing and the appropriate use of sampling. These guidelines are consistent with the American Medical Association Guidelines on Gifts to Physicians by Industry.

  • In 2002, TAP was one of the first pharmaceutical companies to adopt the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America's (PhRMA) Code on Interactions with Healthcare Professionals.

  • TAP's legal department established the TAP Ethics & Law Center, an online resource to provide all employees with training and information on important legal topics that affect TAP's business.

Training

  • Annual training on ethical and legal business practices is mandatory for every TAP employee. The TAP training includes a review of the Code of Conduct and the Operational Guidelines and innovative role-playing exercises that bring Acting on Our Values to life.

  • All sales representatives receive regular, additional training on Prescription Drug Marketing Act (PDMA) regulations.

Monitoring and Support

  • Ethical performance is part of every employee's annual review.

  • An internal hotline is in place for employees to report inappropriate activities and to request guidance on conducting their business affairs in an appropriate manner.
